The Foundation installed a Communication Repeater System on the Grosse Pointe South High School campus ensuring reliable radio communications throughout.

Grosse Pointe South High School has a large, multi-building campus. The Foundation’s first project was the installation of two repeaters at GPSHS completed in September 2023. The $230,000 project allows for reliable radio and cellphone communications inside the school building.

Prior to installation of the repeaters, officers entering the building were unable to communicate via radio with anyone outside the building because thick walls prevented signals from traveling. Cellphone coverage was not reliable. In the event of emergencies, officers in the building would not be able to communicate what was happening to anyone on the outside.
